Water At Your Service
The Old Town Water District has dedicated itself to providing high quality water
services to homes, businesses, and industry in Old Town, Milford, Bradley, parts
of Orono, and to the Penobscot Indian Nation on Indian Island. We do that by
maintaining a transmission and distribution system of sufficient capacity and
pressure to provide adequate supply and fire protection throughout our service
area.
Pay Your Bill Online
Our
new online payment portal for water payment processing is now available. Please remove any
previous bookmarked payment links to our website, and replace them with our new
link to
ensure the payments are processed on our new portal. Both the link
https://oldtownwaterme.governmentwindow.com/ and
QR code
will direct you to
the new online payment processing. Customers may choose to make a one time
payment, or set up a user name and password, and store your payment method, with
the option of setting up reoccurring payments. We are excited to offer the new
feature of automatic payments, and are interested to hear from our customers
regarding your experience.
Water Rate Adjustment for 2026
The Old Town Water District Board of Trustees will hold an in-person public
hearing on Monday, May 11, 2026
at 5:30 p.m., in the Old Town Public Library located at 46 Middle Street, to
discuss and receive comments on a
proposed rate increase being filed with the Maine Public Utilities Commission to
be effective July 1, 2026.

Our Public Water System Has Completed an Initial Service
Line Inventory
As required by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Old Town Water District
has completed the initial water service line inventory on October 10, 2024, Old
Town Water District has classified the water service line supplying your address
as either lead, galvanized requiring replacement (GRR), or as lead status
unknown service line (material of line unknown).

Copper Action Level Exceedence
Water quality samples for copper collected during the 3rd quarter of 2025
exceeded the EPA limit 90th percentile concentraion of 1.3 mg/l. The water
samples collected during this time period showed copper levels of the 90th
percentile to be 1.4 mg/l triggereing Maines Drinking Water Rules and the
National Primary Drinking Water Regulations.
